LEBANON, Ore. – The 117th annual Strawberry Festival is celebrating countless volunteers who have made the event a success over the decades.
The festival began in 1909 as a small gathering to honor the area’s thriving strawberry industry. It’s now a beloved event that attracts visitors from near and far. The multi-day event features parades, carnival rides, arts and crafts, activities for all ages and delicious food. It couldn’t be possible without volunteers like Jen Larsen, who says she’s thrilled to help out.
“What motivated me to be a part of this larger community in Lebanon was just the dynamics between people, I’d never really seen that before firsthand, and all different walks of life came together, all volunteer, not being paid, just with the kindness of their hearts and with this amazing drive, and I just loved it, and started jumping in,” Larsen said…
