Salem man gets 20 years in prison for attacking, threatening to kill ex

MARION COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) – A 45-year-old Salem man was sentenced in Marion County Court on Thursday to 20 years in prison for domestic violence involving a gun and a police chase, according to the district attorney’s office.

On June 29, 2025, deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were sent to a home on Silverton Road Northeast in Salem.

They found a “visibly shaken” woman, the DA’s office said. She told the deputies that she had been inside her home with her friend when her ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Ransom, had entered and started yelling at her while waving a gun at them…
