SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — Salem police are investigating a Fourth of July shooting that left a woman with a leg injury.
Officials said that at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Mill Street SE. When they arrived, they found a 24-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower leg.
“The incident began when a 54-year-old man and his son approached a group of nearly 20 young adults who were setting off fireworks in a private parking lot in the area,” Salem police said in a news release. “The group did not have permission to use the parking lot, and the man, who is a groundskeeper for the property, asked the group to leave, but they refused.”…
