McMinnville Ore. (KPTV) – Two restaurants in McMinnville were named in the Wednesday release of the James Beard Foundation list of semifinalists for the 2024 award season. First-time nominee Hayward, led by Head Chef Kari Kihara, was nominated for overall Best New Restaurant and opened in May of 2023. Kihara moved to McMinnville in 2020 from the Michelin-starred kitchen of Sons and Daughters in San Francisco.
