Prineville receiving $1.5 million to improve drinking water access

The City of Prineville is receiving $1.5 million from the federal government to improve its water system and allow more access to drinking water. The money will help cover modifications to two existing wells, permitting and design of a new aquifer storage and recovery well and upgrades to the water treatment facility, according to an announcement by Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, D-Ore. The goal is to extend drinking water service to Prineville residents who currently do not have it.
