Escape of ‘extremely dangerous’ patient leads to changes at Oregon State Hospital

SALEM Ore. (KPTV) – A ‘Plan of Correction’ has been approved for the Oregon State Hospital after a look into operations found the facility deficient in several areas. The Oregon Health Authority says surveyors from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services first visited the hospital in September and October after a patient charged with multiple violent crimes gained control of a transport vehicle and fled from the hospital.
