Woman charged with crime spree in Newberg has fled

Half of the duo suspected in a crime spree throughout Newberg in late 2023 has taken flight.

Elizabeth Ellece Moser was slated to appear in Yamhill County Circuit Court in late January, but did not, prompting action by Judge Jennifer Chapman.

“Warrants were issued for her arrest on Jan. 29 … when she failed to appear in court,” said District Attorney Brad Berry.

Chapman charged Moser with failure to appear and issued a warrant for her arrest. Should Moser be found, she will find Chapman has set bail at $250,000 dollars. Jail reports as of Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 6, indicate Moser has so far evaded arrest.

Moser had received a release agreement in late December following her arrest earlier that month. She then received conditional release on Jan. 22, a week before she failed to appear in court to face numerous charges stemming from a rash of thefts, break-ins, drug possession and vehicle crimes over the course of several weeks last fall.

Her alleged accomplice, Dylian Michael Lee Simkins, remained in the county jail in McMinnville until Dec. 18, when he too was released from custody. His freedom was short-lived, though, after he was arraigned and indicted in mid-January and the conditional release revoked. He is set for a plea hearing on Feb. 15.
