What’s that planned for Blossom Drive in northeast Salem?

Location: 3390 Blossom Drive NE

Description: Preparation work for a 40-unit multifamily development is underway in northeast Salem.

The project is on land owned by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.

According to city planning documents, initial plans for the site were withdrawn after adjustments needed to be made. Those plans detailed a 39-unit development on the vacant land that would’ve included two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom triplexes, an office and maintenance facility and potential day care.

The application was submitted by the Siletz Tribal Housing Department.

A new site plan has not been submitted to city records.

New permits for civil work list the project as having 40 units.

The 8.85 acres of land is just north of Portland Road and near Harbor Freight Tools and the Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort.

The long-empty plot of land also neighbors a planned 90-unit multifamily development led by Clutch Industries. An application for the development was submitted in late 2022 and approved by the city.
