Washington Splits Road Trip With Blowout Win Over Oregon State

From start to finish Washington’s basketball team was in cruise control against Oregon State, holding down the Beavers for a 67-55 victory on the road Saturday afternoon.

Another strong performance from graduate forward Keion Brooks Jr., who finished with a game-high 23 points and 9 rebounds — one shy of a double-double — in 36 minutes made it happen.

Brooks, the Pac-12’s leading scorer averaging 21 points per game coming into the contest, got the Huskies (13-11, 5-8) going early with 7 points to jump out to an 24-9 lead.

A few minutes later after the Beavers knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, Brooks closed the first half with 11 more points to send his team into halftime leading 42-22.

Not to be outdone, OSU came out of the break on a 9-0 scoring run in the first four minutes to cut the deficit to 42-31.

That was as close as the Beavers would come.

Graduate forward Moses Wood knocked down a 3-pointer, his third of the game, to end the OSU run with 15:11 remaining in the second half.
