Keizer Police Department to swear in new ‘comfort’ K9 Koda

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — The Keizer Police Department will swear in a new K9 officer on Feb. 20 who will strictly serve as a comfort animal to officers, crime victims and community members.

“Koda,” the department’s newest K9 officer, is a 2-year-old female boxer with a short black and white coat. Koda was donated to the department by the Northwest Boxer Rescue.

“You will likely see her roaming the hallways to comfort officers, meet with crime victims, and attend outreach events like Coffee with a Cop, Blast Camp, school-age department tours,” the Keizer Police Department said.
