Fourth of July fireworks, parades and events around Salem

The Fourth of July is around the corner and there are plenty of events to enjoy across the Mid-Valley.

Independence Day is on a Thursday this year, and events are happening from July 3 to July 6.

Here’s a roundup of events happening during the week of the holiday.

July 3

Oregon Garden fireworks celebration: The event at the Oregon Garden in Silverton will feature live music, food and family activities. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m. Admission for people ages 13 and over is $5, children ages 12 and under is free. Oregon Garden members also have free admission. Celebration at Turner Lake: The two-day event at Turner Lake returns and will feature vendors, food and drinks, live music, fireworks and more. It will run from 3 to 10 p.m. the first day. For updated details on the event, go to cityofturner.org/events

Independence Days: The three-day annual event in Independence features family activities, live entertainment, food, a parade, fireworks and more. For day one, the day is free so no wristbands are required. Field games and activities, vendors and festival activities will be on-site through the duration of the festival.
