No timeline on Salem Xfinity store reopening after crash

Xfinity customers in Salem will need to drive to Keizer, Albany or Tigard for the closest in-store service while repairs are made to the Willamette Town Center store after a vehicle drove through the front entrance earlier this month.

The company does not have a definitive timeline for when the Salem store will reopen and is looking to open a temporary location close to the Salem store, an Xfinity spokesperson said.

The owners of the Willamette Town Center said Xfinity is handling the repairs.

“We are working with the City of Salem to secure permits and approval to move forward with repairs as quickly as we can,” the Xfinity spokesperson said.

Salem Xfinity store employees are assisting other Xfinity locations while the Salem store is restored, the company said.

A driver of a red Ford Escape drove over a curb and adjacent sidewalk, smashing through the front entrance of the store on July 10 shortly after 1 p.m.

No one in the store was injured, according to Salem Police, who told the Statesman Journal that the 23-year-old driver was not cited. Additional details were not available.
