SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) – A Salem-area man on parole for a previous methamphetamine delivery conviction was pulled over on a motorcycle and arrested Saturday evening east of Sisters and a large amount of the drug was seized, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team said.
Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop around 7 p.m. on a black 2001 Suzuki motorcycle in the area of Cloverdale Road and Farthing Lane, Lieutenant Mike Landolt said Sunday.
Deputies located a large quantity of methamphetamine in his possession, along with a sale and packaging material. The exact amount of the drug and specific location it was found were not released.
However, Landolt said, “It’s uncommon for dealers to transport large quantities of drugs on a motorcycle.”
The 46-year-old motorcyclist, who has a misdemeanor suspended driver’s license, is living in the Salem area and allegedly transporting and distributing meth to Central Oregon, Landolt said.
He was booked into the county jail in Bend, where he was held without bail pending arraignment.
