Suspected shooter in Salem remains at large, wanted for 2023 murder

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Salem authorities have identified the man suspected of shooting three people during a dispute in February 2023 , but say he remains at large more than a year later.

Fermin Flores, 33, currently has a warrant for his arrest on a charge of second-degree murder during a “verbal dispute between several men” on Feb. 13, 2023.

Officers had responded to “multiple calls of gunfire” near Arbon Drive and Vallejo Street NE, where they found three wounded people — two adult men and one teenage girl. Flores was nowhere to be found.

One of the men, 27-year-old Alejandro Silva-Ramirez of Salem, died at the scene while the other man and teenager survived their injuries, according to police.

Evidence eventually led police to Flores, who also identifies as Alejandro Chavez Mando, several months later. Authorities described the suspect as 5-feet-3 with black hair and brown eyes, adding that he has a slender build and typically wears his head shaved with facial hair.
