Woodburn police performing school traffic safety enforcement for back-to-school week

The Woodburn Police Department will be keeping a close eye on all Woodburn school zones for the beginning of the school year, Aug. 26 to Sept. 6.

Authorities will be focusing on speed, seatbelt usage, cellphone uses and any other unsafe driving violations.

“The goal of traffic safety enforcement is to keep students, school staff and community members safe during this school season,” the agency said in a release.

Most school zones have a 20 mph limit in Woodburn between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on school days.

Woodburn students return to school Aug. 26.
