SALEM, Ore. – A deadly train crash in the heart of Salem closed down multiple streets for several hours on Monday evening. According to the Salem Police Department, a train hit a pedestrian at approximately 4:50 p.m., killing a man. The crash and resulting investigation on the north-south railroad tracks shut down east-west traffic from D Street Northeast up to Mill Street Southeast.
