NE Oregon’s Fire Danger Improves

Oregon Department of Forestry officials have lowered the fire danger in the northeast corner of the state from Extreme to High. While weather conditions have moderated, fire managers say forest fuels remain critically dry and public use restrictions are still in place. In Central Oregon, federally protected lands moved from Extreme to High fire danger in mid-August. Anyone planning to visit public lands is urged to check restrictions for that area before heading out.
