The southbound on-ramp on Interstate 5 at the Aurora-Donald Interchange is closed for construction, the Oregon Department of Transportation said.

The ramp at Exit 278 is closed through Tuesday. A detour is available along Highway 99E.

Up to two lanes may also be closed in either direction on I-5 overnight from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Speed is also reduced to 55 mph in the area.

ODOT also warned drivers to be aware of grooves in the pavement within the lanes and along the shoulder.

The northbound off-ramp was lengthened and widened in the first phase of the project in 2022.

The $62.5 million construction project at the Donald-Aurora Interchange has been underway since 2021, but this phase of the project started construction this year.

The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
