Nearly $10M in federal funds headed to Oregon to help reduce wildfire threats

Oregonians know all to well the threat of wildfires, with 2024 proving to be one of the worst years, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF). Hoping to mitigate some of those threats, theU.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing$9,422,722 in three of Oregon’s national forests to treat areas of high wildfire risk where forests and grasslands meet homes and communities, announced Oregon Senators Jeff Merkley an Ron Wyden, Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
