Introducing Engine 21: Woodburn Fire District’s newest apparatus now in service

Fire up the excitement, Woodburn: On Sept. 16, the Woodburn Fire District welcomed Engine 21 to the team, bringing a new resource to the growing area.

The new engine is located at the district’s central station on Newberg Highway and aims to help serve the expanding communities of Woodburn and Gervais.

The launch of the new engine coincides with the groundbreaking of the fire district’s new Station 23 near Gervais — another move by the district to accommodate the rapid growth in and around Woodburn.

The new engine will staff a crew of four, including at least one paramedic. The new engine is also part of a more significant purchase by the fire district, which included two master tenders, two brush units, two engines, an air unit and two staff vehicles. Three of these purchased vehicles will be assigned to Station 23 upon completion in fall 2025.

The new engine was funded by a bond approved by voters in 2021, which also funded the new fire station.
