A cafecito for mental health in Woodburn

Introducing a brew for a better cause: Café La Onda and the OYEN Emotional Wellness Center have teamed up to raise funds for behavioral health support. The café is selling bags of a house signature coffee from Veracruz, Mexico, and donating $2 of the proceeds from each bag to OYEN’s initiatives.

Café La Onda is a café in downtown Woodburn, serving up an array of coffees imported from small farms in Mexico. The café prides itself on supporting both the communities from which it sources its coffee and its local Woodburn neighbors.

Café La Onda’s partnership with OYEN is the cafe’s newest community initiative, which owners Luis Lamas and Carisa Rangel Gottuso are thrilled about.

“We are very excited to collaborate with Melinda and OYEN on this fundraising project,” Lamas said. “Partnering with OYEN is a natural fit because of what they stand for in the community and who they serve. Woodburn and the surrounding area is enriched with a diverse culture, and giving back in some way to those who are underserved aligns with our vision and passion as a business.”
