This story was updated at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1. A new wildfire was confirmed just east of Marion Forks on Tuesday by the U.S. Forest Service. The Bingham Fire was estimated at 35 acres by Tuesday evening and was burning just a few miles from Highway 22, southeast of Detroit, on the edge of the Mount Jefferson Wilderness. The fire was first reported Monday and grew on Tuesday.
