Woodburn Chick-fil-A construction progresses, but opening day remains a mystery

The Woodburn Chick-fil-A opening day is still uncertain, but the end of construction is near.

In July 2023, the Woodburn Planning Commission approved Chick-fil-A’s land-use application for a 2,872-square-foot restaurant on about 1.39 acres at 300 S. Woodland Ave. at the southeast corner of Oregon Highway 219.

According to Chris Kerr, Woodburn Community Development Director, the city is still unaware of the restaurant’s opening day.

“I do not know the date. I can’t say, but they’re working and it’s moving along,” Kerr said. “They put their signs up. This is not a vacant site, there is a building up.”

According to the project’s traffic impact analysis, “the proposed restaurant is expected to be fully built-out and occupied by 2024.”

The Woodburn Chick-fil-A site operator did not immediately respond to a request for information on the opening date.

At the construction site, the restaurant’s structure is built, and there is on-building signage, with outside finishings still being done. However, the restaurant’s parking and outdoor drive-thru is still being built.
