On November 14, 2024, thousands of Salem-Keizer Public Schools students will walk to school to honor Ruby Bridges, a famous civil rights figure in the U.S. This event is organized by the Salem-Keizer Safe Routes to School program with the help of the school district. It celebrates the impact that Ruby Bridges had in desegregating U.S. schools when she was just six years old.
