Tens of thousands across Oregon are without power Thursday morning, Dec. 26, after high winds hit Oregon.
Across Portland, there have been reports of trees falling on power lines, roads and in the front yards of homes.
According to Portland General Electric’s outage map, as of 6:30 a.m. more than 23,000 people are without power across the Portland metro area and all the way south to Salem.
That number had been higher than 40,000 around 5 a.m. Thursday.
Pacific Power also shows another 12,000 without power with a majority near Corvallis and along the southern coast.
Since midnight, wind gusts have been tracked up to 63 mph along the coast and up to 48 mph in the Portland metro.
