On Saturday morning, March 8, a steady stream of onlookers gathered on the southeast corner of Southwest Sunset Boulevard in Sherwood waiting for two cranes to gingerly swing the new 194-foot pedestrian bridge across Highway 99W.
Some sat in lawn chairs, others had their children in tow and almost all of them were photographing the event with their smart phones.
By 1:15 p.m., the prefabricated bridge was fully in place, stretching across the state highway from near the Sherwood YMCA on the east side of Highway 99W towards Southwest Elwert Road on the west side, atop concrete pilings…
