Eastern Oregon and Washington Winter Weather Alert: Up to 15 Inches Expected by Late Thursday

Pendleton, OR – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of Oregon and Washington from Wednesday evening through late Thursday, with significant snowfall and gusty winds expected.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pendleton, snowfall will begin around 5 p.m. Wednesday and continue through 11 p.m. Thursday. The East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades, including Sunriver, Sisters, Camp Sherman, and La Pine, could see snow totals ranging from 1 to 15 inches above 3,500 feet. Winds may gust up to 35 mph, creating low visibility and hazardous travel conditions.

Meanwhile, the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon and the Northwest Blue Mountains of Washington—including Tollgate, Meacham, and Ski Bluewood Resort—are expected to receive between 5 and 8 inches of snow above 4,500 feet.
