Albany police: Group running predator sting for social media content ignored guidelines

ALBANY Ore. (KPTV) – Albany Police said an out-of-state group filming content for social media failed to follow proper procedures while running a non-police-sponsored sting to catch an alleged child predator on Friday.

Police said the group contacted them on Friday and told officers they had been in contact with a man, and while posing as a child online, had arranged to meet him.
