Two arrested after meth, gun, cash found in Salem car

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Two men were arrested after methamphetamine, a gun and cash were seized by police during a Salem traffic stop early Saturday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., a patrol officer stopped a vehicle with three people inside near the area of Silverton Road and Lana Avenue NE.

One of the passengers, 28-year-old Gavino Rocha, was found with a handgun, nearly eight ounces of methamphetamine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Police said Rocha initially resisted arrest, but he was eventually taken into custody on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine, as well as unlawful manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school.
