SILVERTON, Ore. — Classes and athletic events are canceled Friday at Silverton High School after what police said was a swatting threat. This comes almost a week following a lockdown at the high school after a report of a possible shooting.
On Thursday, the Silverton Police Department said it received a computer-generated call about an “emerging incident” at the high school, and officers responded to the school, but no threat was found. Classes were released as regularly scheduled.
While investigating, officers became aware of an “implied threat” to Silverton High School on Friday, and the school district canceled Silverton High’s classes and all home athletic events out of an abundance of caution…
