Boy in Ford Escape backseat dies in Benton County crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A boy who was in the backseat of a Ford Escape died when a Ford F-350 hit the rear of the Escape while it was turning Saturday afternoon in Benton County.

The crash on Highway 34 near Grange Hall Road happened around 5:15 p.m., the sheriff’s office said in a release.

The driver of the Escape, 26, was turning east onto Grange Hall Road when the westbound pickup truck hit the back end. The boy, whose name and age have not been released, died on the way to the hospital, authorities said.
