CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University student-led Corvallis Food Project has had another successful food drive, collecting 10,000 pounds of food for local pantries and the college food bank.
Project members collected donations from area homes on specific days each term. Launched two years ago, the nonprofit’s creator was inspired by the Medford Food Project, where they volunteered in high school. Their mission is simply to fight food poverty within their community.
“Based on the success of the Medford food project, and other programs similar in Southern Oregon,” said Shahar Miles, former director of the Corvallis Food Project. “I anticipate us reaching 20k, 30k in the coming years depending on how well we scale.”…
