WOODLAND, Wash. – A Salem man is in custody after allegedly attempting to trade a fully automatic submachine gun and other items for an ATV listed on Facebook Marketplace, according to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives with the Crime Reduction Team said they were contacted on June 3rd by a citizen who had received a suspicious offer involving an illegal firearm. The seller had advertised an all-terrain vehicle online and was approached by a prospective buyer offering a PPSH-style submachine gun, a suppressor, and a motorcycle in exchange.
