PORTLAND, Ore. — Security camera footage obtained by KGW shows the stabbing spree at a homeless shelter in Salem on Sunday evening that left 12 people injured. Five of the victims remain hospitalized, two are in serious condition and three are listed as stable.
The alleged attacker, Tony Latrell Williams, 42, of Bend, is charged with one count of attempted murder and 11 counts of second-degree assault. Williams told police, “I did it but it was all in self defense,” according to court documents. Williams repeated the self-defense claim in court during his arraignment on Monday.
