We at the Cascade Chronicle heard about Josiah Fisher after the 2025 Skills College was finished. He taught rigging with Jim Suiter (Jim did class, Josiah did actual) and we were told that the class was great. So…time to get to know him a bit and find out what makes him tick.
Josiah and wife Xan (short for Xanthippe) have lived in Corvallis since 1992. Josiah is from New Hampshire. He spent 4 years in the Air Force in Southeast Asia as a photographer. He originally came to the West Coast in the 60s driving his VW Bus. With his then wife they located in Portland so she could work on a PhD. They had a child. He was a stay at home Dad. Fast forward to more recent times in the Seattle area of the West Coast. Josiah was single. He was very much into Contra Dancing which he describes as “the most fun you can have with clothes on”. He joined a group and met other dancers.
Found a place to live. Found work. Found Xan. It all clicked…
