Trapped driver rescued following single-vehicle crash into power pole

LEBANON, Ore. – Lebanon emergency responders rescued the trapped driver of a pickup truck that had live power lines draped over it after crashing into a power pole on Sunday, according to the Lebanon Fire District.

Fire officials said they responded at about 6:30 p.m. on July 13 to a reported single-vehicle crash at South Santiam Highway and Elmore Street involving a pickup truck that had struck a utility pole and fire hydrant. The vehicle came to rest with live power lines draped over the vehicle, Lebanon fire authorities said. LFD officials said that the driver of the vehicle was alert and remained inside while waiting for Pacific Power to respond and secure the power lines.
