Oregon Humane Society Slashes Pet Adoption Fees by 50% in Portland and Salem This Weekend

The Oregon Humane Society will reduce adoption fees by 50 percent for all adult pets aged 6 months and older from July 18 through July 20. The offer applies at both the Portland and Salem campuses. According to KGW, the initiative is in response to increased shelter populations during the summer months.

Each adopted pet will receive a spay or neuter surgery, updated vaccinations, a microchip, and a free veterinary exam at OHS’ Community Veterinary Hospital in Portland or select VCA clinics in Salem, as reported by KOIN. There is a current need for adopters of adult cats in Salem and large dogs in Portland. Pets available include Penni and Charlie Brown, a bonded pair of 2-year-old dogs in Portland, and Pippen, a 2-year-old cat in Salem who recently completed medical treatment.
