We picked up some light showers overnight, thanks to a weak system that passed through the region. Around the Portland metro, we got a little more than three-tenths of an inch—a nice change after a dry stretch. Showers are already winding down early this morning, though a bit of drizzle could linger through sunrise, especially north of Salem and in the Cascades.
As we head through the day, clouds will gradually clear out and sunshine will take over this afternoon. That will help temperatures rebound into the upper 70s to low 80s across our inland valleys. Expect another dry and slightly warmer day on Tuesday as high pressure begins building back in.
By Wednesday, we start to feel the heat. Temperatures jump into the upper 80s and low 90s, especially in the Portland/Vancouver metro and through the Columbia Gorge. The good news is that overnight lows stay relatively mild, so this won’t be an extreme heat event…
