Lebanon honors passing of highly-decorated local veteran with community tributes

LINN COUNTY, Ore. – Flags across Linn County are at half-staff to honor Sergeant First Class Scot Noss. The Lebanon-native Army Ranger passed away this month due to injuries he sustained 18 years ago on a mission in Afghanistan.

During his eighth deployment, Sgt. Noss was involved in a helicopter crash that killed eight of the 24 on board. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and spent the next 18 years in a minimally conscious state.
