PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Corvallis police are urging residents to keep their small pets and children indoors after a cougar was spotted in the area burying a small deer it had killed underneath a home’s porch.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife began investigating the area of NW Jon Place and Sunview Drive after someone contacted police on Thursday, July 31.

“…For now we are encouraging residents in the area to keep small pets and children indoors,” officials said.
Anyone who sees the cougar in the area is encouraged to contact police at 541-766-6911 with details of the location.
