Willamette River rescues highlight Albany’s summer water hazards

ALBANY, Ore. – Rescuers sprang into action twice on Saturday when individuals became stranded in the fast-moving Willamette River near Monteith Park.

According to the Albany Fire Department, rescuers on August 2 found the individuals clinging to dense brush, struggling against strong currents. They navigated debris-filled waters to bring everyone safely to shore.

Paramedics evaluated the rescued individuals on scene, and no serious injuries were reported…
