Car slams through brick building, causes $20K in damage to Salem vision center

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A vision center is damaged after a car slammed through a brick wall in Salem late Monday night, officials said.

Salem Fire crews responded to the crash at Capital St. NE, the location of Salem’s Eye Professionals, around 11:45 p.m. Photos of the scene show a grey Chevrolet Malibu with Texas plates crashed into the building.

No injuries were reported, but authorities said the estimated property loss was roughly $20,000.

“We’re grateful for the quick response of all crews on scene and thankful this incident did not result in injuries,” Salem Fire said.
