The barn owl whose rescue from a barbed-wire fence in Lebanon went viral on TikTok earlier this year has been rehabilitated and released.
After nearly three months in the Chintimini Wildlife Center’s hospital in Corvallis, the barn owl was cleared to return to the wild and took flight on Monday. Handlers released it near the spot where it was originally found, a wildlife rehabilitation requirement by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, but a safe distance from the barbed wire.
The owl made a full recovery from severe emaciation and barbed-wire wounds, according to a statement from the wildlife center. When it was first brought to the center, its survival was uncertain…
