Salem, OR (September 7, 2025) – A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 5 at the D Street overpass in Salem left several people injured on Saturday afternoon, September 6.
According to Salem Police, the crash occurred in the northbound lanes near downtown. Both police and fire personnel responded quickly, assisting those hurt. At least one victim was transported to a local hospital, while others were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed what led to the collision, though traffic in the area was slowed for several hours while crews cleared the roadway. The damaged vehicles were later towed away, allowing the interstate to fully reopen in the evening. The Salem Police Department is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash.
