PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Attorneys and legal advocates held a press conference on Friday to announce their efforts to free an Oregon firefighter who they claim was wrongfully detained by US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents while he was fighting a wildfire in Washington back in August.
Attorneys for 23-year-old Rigboerto Hernández Hernández announced they are filing a Habeas Corpus petition and a Temporary Restraining order to get him out of the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Tacoma.
