PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A family whose home was destroyed by a plane crash in Newberg has filed a multi-million-dollar lawsuit, seeking $18 million in damages.
The Ferris family is suing Hillsboro Aero Academy, Ascend Pilot Academy, Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air Industries, Matt Bevacqua, and the estate of Barrett Bevacqua.
According to the lawsuit, the family is seeking “recovery of compensatory damages for the total destruction of their real property, including their family home and yard, damage to their personal property, trespass, and emotional distress damages on behalf of themselves and their three minor children arising from Defendant’s aircraft smashing into their home on October 3, 2023, as well as past and future expenses flowing from the destruction of their home and rebuilding their home.”…
