Man accused of violating parole fled police, hid in bushes mid-standoff

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Gervais man accused of violating his parole while facing multiple outstanding charges was arrested early Saturday morning, according to Woodburn police.

Officers responded to the Colonia Unidad Apartments at 1750 Park Avenue after receiving a call about a “suspicious male” around 1 a.m.

The man, 23-year-old Victor Armando Vallejo, fled from police through the apartment complex’s parking lot and refused to stop, police said. Officers on scene said Vallejo had outstanding warrants at the time.

Police chased Vallejo in his vehicle as it traveled northbound on I-5 toward Wilsonville, but the pursuit was canceled “for safety reasons.”…
