Salem Man Charged with Manslaughter and DUII Following Fatal Cordon Road NE Collision

A two-vehicle crash on Cordon Road NE in Salem killed four young men, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. last Saturday, when a northbound Volkswagen Jetta crossed into the southbound lane and hit a Buick Enclave. The four passengers in the Jetta, aged in their late teens to early 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a front passenger were seriously injured and taken to hospitals, as reported by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the Jetta, 23-year-old Saul Hernandez-Roblero from Salem, was arrested after receiving medical treatment. He faces multiple charges: four counts of first-degree manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants, five counts of reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
