PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Monmouth residents should be on the lookout for a cougar in the area, according to police.
Officials said that all small pets and children should be supervised when near dark, recessed areas in south Monmouth.

“Residents in the area of Apple Street in south Monmouth have heard what could be potentially cougars in the area,” Monmouth police said, adding that cougars may have been sighted as well.
