1 dead, 1 injured after ‘jack-knife’ crash involving 4 vehicles on I-5

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A four-vehicle crash in Marion County on Sunday resulted in one death and one injury, according to Oregon State Police.

The crash took place just after 2:30 p.m. near milepost 272 in Marion County.

Investigators determined that Didier Fuentes, 26, tried to merge onto the freeway from Hwy 214 in a Chevy Silverado when it entered the path of a semi-truck. The two vehicles collided, causing the truck to “jack-knife” across the freeway and strike a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which crashed into the median, OSP said…
